A beautifully crafted, limited-production South African red from Waterford Estate in Stellenbosch, The Jem is one of the estate’s flagship wines. The 2017 vintage brings together Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot to create a wine of impressive depth, complexity and balance.

Expect aromas of dark berries, blackcurrant, plum and spice, with layers of cedar, dark chocolate and subtle savoury notes developing in the glass. The palate is full-bodied and structured, with fine-grained tannins, concentrated fruit and a long, elegant finish.

A serious wine with excellent ageing potential, but already showing plenty of complexity and character.

Tip: Decant for at least 2 hours before drinking
