Crafted from one of South Africa’s most iconic estates, Vergelegen Reserve Chardonnay is a benchmark expression of cool-climate Stellenbosch winemaking. Sourced from high-altitude vineyards on the Schapenberg, this wine balances richness with remarkable freshness, delivering both finesse and power in the glass.
Aromas of ripe citrus, white peach and crisp green apple leap from the glass, layered with notes of toasted almond, brioche, and delicate vanilla from expertly judged French oak. On the palate it’s beautifully textured—creamy yet taut—with vibrant acidity carrying through to a long, mineral-driven finish.
Vergelegen (meaning “situated far away”) has over 300 years of history, but their philosophy is simple: "There must be harmony between the old and the new."
