Stellenrust The Mothership Chenin Blanc

The Mothership is an exceptional, small-production Chenin Blanc from Stellenrust’s ArtiSons range, made from 100% Chenin Blanc grown on 1964-planted bush vines in the granite-rich Bottelary Hills of Stellenbosch. The old, unirrigated vines produce naturally low yields and highly concentrated fruit.

The wine combines white peach, pear and stone fruit with citrus, mineral and subtle lees characters. Fermentation takes place with wild yeast in 2,000-litre foudre and concrete eggs, followed by extended maturation on the gross lees, giving the wine impressive texture and depth while retaining Chenin's characteristic freshness and acidity.
